Operation Encompass

Offley Endowed Primary School and Nursery is part of Operation Encompass, a national safeguarding initiative run jointly between local schools and police forces.

The project aims to support children who are affected by domestic abuse. When police attend a domestic abuse incident where a child has been present, exposed to, or involved in, they will notify the school’s safeguarding team prior to the start of the next school day. This allows us to provide immediate, confidential support to the child.

How it Works

  • Early Notification: Police notify the school’s designated Key Adult immediately after an incident.
  • Discreet Support: The school can provide practical, emotional, or silent support to ensure the child feels safe and cared for.
  • Confidentiality: Information is shared securely and only with staff who strictly need to know to safeguard the child.

Our Key Adults

At Offley, our designated Key Adults are:

  • Mr P Edwards -  Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)
  • Mrs H Warne – Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead
