Early years pupil premium is an additional amount of funding that schools, pre-schools, nurseries and childminders will be able to claim for eligible 3 and 4 year old children to support their development and learning.
What benefit will it be to my child?
The pre-school, nursery, school or childminder that your child attends will receive an additional amount of funding to support your child’s development. They will work with you to decide what they should spend this funding on. It may be training for the staff to help them to support your child better or they may buy some resources to assist your child’s learning.
How much additional funding is available?
Early Years Pupil Premium provides an extra 62p per hour which, if the child accesses their full entitlement equates to £353 a year.

We will work in partnership with parents to carefully consider how the additional funding can support the learning and development needs of your child. The additional funding may be used in the following areas:
So far this year, we have used Pupil Premium money to buy resources to help children with their phonics from the Little Wandle Phonics range. We have also worked closely with Early Years Advisors on how we can use the funds to help the children to reach their full potential. We have used some of the EYPP to fund additional hours in our setting.
How do parents apply for early years pupil premium?
